Internal Accounts Overview

An overview of Internal Accounts.

An Internal Account is a account that belongs to your organization. Internal Accounts used for Payments are your bank accounts connected to Modern Treasury. These accounts contain the relevant name, address, entity type information necessary for making payments.

Internal Accounts are associated to a Connection, which can serve as an aggregation of accounts. For example, you may have many bank accounts (Internal Accounts) at your bank (a Connection).

When the Internal Account is a bank account used to facilitate money movement, it may also contain an address, entity type, and other information necessary for making payments. Internal Accounts also specify what payment types and other account-specific configurations are enabled.
